In 2023, I had the privilege of being part of a small group selected for The Gabriel Institute’s leadership program. This program was founded by Stanley Gabriel, CEO of Momentum Investo. The mentorship experience, which lasted a whole year, was so impactful. I still reflect on the profound difference it had on my life.
Mentorship Experience
Stanley’s guidance and encouragement created space for me to rediscover myself, unlocking doors that had been closed for years. His mentorship helped me find a deeper appreciation for South Africa, he is a wonderful human and South African. For Stan to take time out of his year to mentor professionals like myself and give freely is really inspiring to me. I hope to do the same in coming years to honour his acts of kindness.
One question that has stayed with me since our first meeting is: “Who are you unCVed?” Stans question and insight reminded me that I am more than my professional persona. Stan taught me the importance of balance, allowing different aspects of myself to coexist and thrive.
Through Stans mentorship, I gained a newfound understanding of what it means to be whole and content. His wisdom and leadership have had a lasting impact on my life, and I am forever grateful for the experience.
Conclusion
Stanley may be known as the unconventional CEO but, to me, he embodies a different title: a compassionate guide. He has a unique gift for creating spaces that allow individuals to break free from constraints, tap into their potential, and cultivate confidence and self-belief.
I feel fortunate to have shared space with Stan and will use what I have learnt to give back.
